The Chilli Pickle

By in Restaurants, The Butler Wine-Show

The Chilli Pickle in Brighton’s lanes is a serious contender for the best restaurant in town.

Alan and Dawn have built a little oasis that incredibly some locals still don’t know about. Alan worked at London’s renowned Cinnamon Club and has transplanted that learning to a lovely, intimate venue by the sea.

The food isn’t “sauce and rice” like some Indian restaurants, but has layer on layer of complex flavours, meaning wine is going to be a much better partner than a pint of Kingfisher.

The idea of these programmes is for me to give the pick of the wine list, rather than you opting for something safe or wrong. Of course, if you can’t make it to the Chilli Pickle I’d hope the content still is of use for whenever you’re eating spicy food, from whatever continent.

I want to show you the grape names to look out for and styles that will go well.

If you’ve got a local restaurant and you want me to visit and run through the wine list, get in touch and we’ll see if we can schedule it into future programmes.
