Three ethical wines

By in Festivals, Tasting

While at The Glynde Food Festival I took a break with the chief organiser Lord Frankie, in whose family grounds the festival takes place.

I gave him a slurp of three wines I was touting on my stand, each of which has a pleasant story behind it, and so I thought that might be of interest to you: its always nice to turn up somewhere with a bottle use it as a talking point rather than go “Here’s a bottle of Hardy’s. Did I not mention I’m allergic to prawns.”

The wines are from Chile, Portugal and Australia ranging from £9-15.

In the interests of time the editor snipped out a fact about the Quinta do Coa wine from Portugal: the maker found a cave on the vineyard site containing ancient cave drawings so has gone out of his way to make the area protected. So if you need an excuse, drink to his health.
