The most expensive wine in the world – Christmas charity raffle

By in The Butler Wine-Show

We’re having a Christmas Raffle – for a pound a ticket (in aid of the Martlett’s Hospice) we’re giving you the chance to win a £150 bottle of 1982 Saint Emilion Grand Cru to have with your Christmas lunch.

Its inspired by the news that the world’s most expensive bottle of wine was sold at auction in Geneva: another St Emilion from Chateau Cheval Blanc 1947 for $300,000!

I had a chance to drink that wine once when Lloyd Webber got rid of a load, but I had a row with my ex-wife and that put pay to me tasting the nectar.

A bottle from 1947 will still drink well – wonderfully rich and soft with Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes.

To win our bottle either come in the shop with your pound coins or give us a call on 01273 698 724 and we’ll take payment over the phone.

Its for a good cause and could give you a stunning centerpiece for Christmas day. Good luck!
