2 Great Wines from the Brighton Food Festival

By in Festivals, Tasting, The Butler Wine-Show

Well done to all at the Brighton food festival. Great for local business, bad for the waistline.

On Sunday Hotel Du Vin held an event where for £20 you could seemingly drink as much Champagne and local sparkling wines as your Monday would let you, and it was great to see a House like Lanson alongside local upstarts like Bolney and Breaky Bottom.

I was peddling a fantastic small producer called Jacquesson. Seek it out. More than one person came back to our table to say it was the best they tried all day.

But next to us was Ollie from Ridgeview. We spoke about their award winning Blanc de Blanc sparkle, Grosvenor before, and they have done it again, this time using red grapes to make a white sparkle: Knightsbridge (2008).

Its fantastic value, but supplies, as with all their wines, will be limited, so if you see it; buy it. It will keep for a couple for a couple of year too. Bonus.

Well done then to all the chaps at the Festival and Du Vin. Amazing Scotch Eggs all year round!
